Who is Guido

Guido is one of those few select mountain bikers who has truly seen it all and done it all. He’s been there from the beginning, back when racing rigid bikes downhill was the only option. He’s been a part of the evolution of our sport, as well as a part of pioneering events like the Red Bull Rampage. Continuing that theme, he was an early adapter of pedal-assist cycling in 2013 and has since become a critical thinker and contributor to the rapidly developing eMTB scene.

Spend five minutes with the guy and it’s clear Guido loves what he does. He’s no spring chicken, but with a kid-at-heart attitude he can still show younger riders the way to go. And when he’s not riding bikes, he can be found passing on life lessons to either his own children or the next generation of up-and-comers, sculpting trails or organising ride events. Two wheels are always involved with Guido.

Who Is Alex

Fast, French and a person who lives for mountain biking - this is Alex Fayolle. He’s also one of the privileged few to have won a UCI Downhill MTB World Cup. That honour came in 2017, when Alex stormed to victory in Lourdes, France. A home soil win at the highest level in their sport is arguably every athlete’s dream, and Alex has firmly ticked that box with pride.

But while that memorable moment in France will be forever savoured, time ticks on and attention changes. Retiring from elite level of Downhill racing led to a chance love affair with eMTB and soon after, Alex found himself welcomed with open arms into Husqvarna E-Bicycles. The spark that had been missing from his riding was back, mountain biking became fun again and since then it’s been hard to keep the Frenchman off his bike.

In 2021 we went racing. Straight into the deep end of the Enduro World Series - it was a first for us and Alex too in enduro. We raced hard, crashed, laughed and ultimately learned loads. For 2022 Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing returns to the EWS-E paddock and, together with new recruit Simon Carlsson, Alex is fired up for success.
