Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing set for Enduro World Series action

Time for EWS-E duty!

After a lengthy wait, it’s finally all systems go as Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing jump into Enduro World Series mode for the eMTB championship. Crans-Montana in Switzerland, will see Alex Fayolle and Marco Melandri tackle the opening round of the three race series on September 9.

Spearheading Husqvarna E-Bicycles' first foray into competition will be Frenchman Alex Fayolle. A former top-tier rider in the UCI Downhill MTB World Cup, the 25-year-old is keen to find his feet in enduro.

“Honestly, I’m really looking forward to my first EWS-E,” says Alex. “I think with Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing we’ve prepared as well as we can. It’s a new challenge for everyone on the team, but I know I can count on them to get the best out of myself on race day.”

Feeling Comfortable

With plenty of testing under his belt on his Mountain Cross 7, along with some promising performances and a podium result at the two-day King of Accous Enduro in France, Alex is excited to see how it all translates to the EWS-E.

“We’ve got my MC7 running sharp and I feel really good on it,” he continues. “Of course, experience isn’t on my side because this will be my first EWS-E, but I’m ready to give it my best and put in a smart ride. We’re not targeting a specific result, but I hope I can fight for the podium!”

A legend joins the mix

Joining Alex for rounds one and two will be none other than former MotoGP racer and all-around road racing legend and Husqvarna E-Bicycles ambassador Marco Melandri. The Italian has found a new love in eMTB and will compete on his Hard Cross 8 in the EWS-E100 category.

“Yeah, I’m excited for Crans-Montana!” tells the always smiling Macro. “I know it will be difficult for me because I don’t know the trails, but I just want to do my best.” With home pride at stake the following week in Italy, and on more familiar terrain in Finale Ligure, Macro will be gunning to deliver his best results. “My goal is to try to be more competitive during my home round at Finale Ligure in Italy. I feel ready, well as much as I can be, to give it a good go!”

Racing at this level isn’t possible without great support and Husqvarna E-Bicycles sponsors include Kenny Racing and Sunlight, Crankbrothers, SIXPACK, Vee Tire Co, GALFER and Monkey’s Sauce.
