Guido Tschugg helps Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing bring the 2022 eMTB Enduro World Series to a positive close with a Masters class podium in Finale Ligure
After five demanding and distinctively different rounds, Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing’s participation in the 2022 eMTB Enduro World Series drew to a close today in Finale Ligure, Italy. Guido Tschugg earned another podium result in Masters, while Simon Carlsson ended his 2022 season in 17th overall.
Long regarded as a mecca for mountain biking, the iconic Italian trails are well known for being the birthplace for enduro racing. However, despite their beautiful coastal location, the trails of Finale Ligure are not for the faint hearted.
Littered with rocks, roots and slippery dust, they are tough to master. And with 12 stages, including three uphill power stages to master, round five was in many ways the toughest of the championship.
Guido gets the job done in Crans Montana to take an EWS-E Masters win
The penultimate round of the eMTB Enduro World Series saw Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing’s Guido Tschugg race his way across the Swiss Alps in Crans Montana to claim a well-deserved victory in the Masters 45+ class.
Continuing to grow in his debut EWS-E Pro class season, Sweden’s Simon Carlsson fought hard to overcome a tough day at the office and finish 21st.
Marking the penultimate stop in this year’s EWS-E season, the Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing trio of Simon Carlsson, Alexandre Fayolle, and Guido Tschugg headed to the high alps of Crans Montana in Switzerland.
A big day out saw them tackle nine stages, including three uphill Power Stages, across 70 kilometres in mixed and changing weather conditions.

After a strong start to the Enduro World Series opening round, the Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing team were out in force for the second stop of the season in Slovenia. Simon Carlsson excelled with a career-best result of 16th in Pro, while team stalwart Guido Tschugg finished second in Masters 35+ class. A final stage puncture prevented Alex Fayolle joining Simon inside the top-20 of the hyper-competitive Pro category.

The 2022 Enduro World Series got under way in Scotland with Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing pushing hard for a pair of top-26 results with Simon Carlsson and Alex Fayolle. There was success for Guido Tschugg who claimed a podium result in the Masters category.

EWS-E continues with round two in two weeks time
Quickly getting up to speed, the EWS-E racing was fast and furious in the Scottish Tweed Valley. A physically demanding day at the office saw riders grapple a 65-kilometre long course, with 13 stages and 2833 metres of climbing to complete. An extremely tight time schedule ensured no time to rest.
Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing head to Scotland to get their participation in the 2022 Enduro World Series underway. The iconic Scottish Tweed Valley will play host to round one of the five-round EWS-E series, where team riders Alex Fayolle, Simon Carlsson, and Guido Tschugg will all take to the start line.
With a productive off-season under their belts, Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing are now set to go racing in the 2022 Enduro World Series. Heading north, the championship begins in Tweed Valley, one hour south of Scotland’s capital, Edinburgh. After the team’s racing debut in 2021, the line-up expands from one rider to three for 2022, with Simon Carlsson and Guido Tschugg joining Alex Fayolle.
All three riders will race on Mountain Cross Legacy Edition bikes with support from Shimano, MOTOREX and Sunlight.
After making his EWS-E debut in 2021, Alex Fayolle returns this year, more experienced and focused on improving his results. A busy winter has seen him put in the training and dial his riding in on the Mountain Cross LE. Facing new terrain in Scotland, Alex is hungry to make a start strong to his championship campaign.
Sweden’s Simon Carlsson joins the team for 2022. The 24-year-old has settled in well with Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing and is keen to show what he can do out on track. Clocking up plenty of testing and training hours, Simon recently took a race win at the Finnish Enduro Series and will hope to carry that momentum into Scotland.
Dusting off his race shoes, MTB legend Guido Tschugg is going racing again. However, this time it’s a first for him in Enduro. Always keen to try something new, Guido will hope to put his years of Downhill MTB experience to good use as he chases success in the Masters category. Between racing and team manager duties, it will be a busy-but-exciting challenge for Guido.

There was both triumph and disappointment for Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing at round two of the Enduro World Series with Marco Melandri winning the Masters 35+ class while Alex Fayolle was forced to cut his day short due to injury.
With the second stop of the EWS-E class of the Enduro World Series coming hot on the heels of last week’s opener in Switzerland, Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing fast tracked it to Finale Ligure in Italy. Long regarded as a mecca for enduro racing, the iconic venue lived up to its beautiful-but-tough reputation.
A brutally demanding day of racing was on the cards for all in Finale Ligure, with organisers laying out a 70-kilometre-long course to include 12 stages - three of which were power stages climbs - and upwards of 3000 metres of elevation to master.

Fayolle digs deep on his Mountain Cross 7 to claim 26th overall in EWS-E Pro Men, while Marco Melandri shines with third in Masters 35+ on his Hard Cross 8 in Crans Montana.
The opening round of the 2021 EWS-E was a big one for all. With nine stages planned across a 60-kilometre-long course, which covered upwards of 4,000 metres of elevation, it pushed riders to their maximum, while tight liaison time controls further added to the physicality of event.
Time for EWS-E duty!
After a lengthy wait, it’s finally all systems go as Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing jump into Enduro World Series mode for the eMTB championship. Crans-Montana in Switzerland, will see Alex Fayolle and Marco Melandri tackle the opening round of the three race series on September 9.
Spearheading Husqvarna E-Bicycles' first foray into competition will be Frenchman Alex Fayolle. A former top-tier rider in the UCI Downhill MTB World Cup, the 25-year-old is keen to find his feet in enduro.
“Honestly, I’m really looking forward to my first EWS-E,” says Alex. “I think with Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing we’ve prepared as well as we can. It’s a new challenge for everyone on the team, but I know I can count on them to get the best out of myself on race day.”

Mountain Cross 7 mounted Frenchman takes a fine second place finish for Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing on enduro debut in the French Pyrenees.
Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing have kicked off their debut season in style, competing at the four-day King of Accous Enduro in the south west of France. Using the event as a great opportunity to dip a toe into competitive enduro waters for the first time this year, Alexandre Fayolle took on a stacked entry on his Mountain Cross 7, claiming an impressive runner-up result in the eMTB class.

Yes, we’re delighted to share the news that Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing will contest the 2021 Enduro World Series with Alexandre Fayolle. The potently fast 25-year-old Frenchman will spearhead our first season of competition in the EWS-E on our Mountain Cross 7. Building towards this milestone for a few years, the time is now right to go racing. And there’s nowhere better to do it on the world stage than the Enduro World Series.
Scheduled to take place across four rounds, the Enduro World Series will visit France, Switzerland, Italy and Great Britain in what’s going to be a true test of nerve and skill, but above all else it’ll be a whole lot of fun. Making his enduro debut with Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing, Alex is keen to start this new chapter of his career.
“I’m really excited to share the news that I’ll race the EWS-E with Husqvarna E-Bicycles,” tells Alex. “I’ve been bursting to tell everyone for a while now, so it’s cool to make it official.”
