Husqvarna E-Bicycles joins 2021 Enduro World Series

We’re going racing!

Yes, we’re delighted to share the news that Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing will contest the 2021 Enduro World Series with Alexandre Fayolle. The potently fast 25-year-old Frenchman will spearhead our first season of competition in the EWS-E on our Mountain Cross 7. Building towards this milestone for a few years, the time is now right to go racing. And there’s nowhere better to do it on the world stage than the Enduro World Series.

Scheduled to take place across four rounds, the Enduro World Series will visit France, Switzerland, Italy and Great Britain in what’s going to be a true test of nerve and skill, but above all else it’ll be a whole lot of fun. Making his enduro debut with Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing, Alex is keen to start this new chapter of his career.

“I’m really excited to share the news that I’ll race the EWS-E with Husqvarna E-Bicycles,” tells Alex. “I’ve been bursting to tell everyone for a while now, so it’s cool to make it official.”

The fun factor is back

“This move to enduro, on an eMTB, is just what I need,” continues Alex. “I’ve found something again that I’d lost with downhill, that’s having fun on my bike. Now I just want to get out there to ride and race and enjoy it all.” Already gelling with his Mountain Cross 7, the feeling is good, and everything is right on track.

“Jumping on the new Mountain Cross 7 is impressive. With the mullet wheel size, it surprises me every time I ride - it’s fast for sure. “For EWS-E, I feel like I’ve got a great team behind me. We’re a small, but tight, crew and in racing that’s what works best.”

Learning the ropes

As a former UCI Downhill World Cup race winner and podium guy, Alex knows exactly what it takes to lay down a blisteringly fast run. But he’s equally aware that there’s a lot to learn in this new discipline too.

“Of course, enduro is a new world for me - I know there will be a lot to learn - but I think enduro is more of what I’m looking for in my future. I can’t wait to get started with Husqvarna E-Bicycles Racing, we’re going to have a lot of fun.”

Alex’s Mountain Cross 7

For 2021, Alex will line up on the Husqvarna E-Bicycles Mountain Cross 7. Utilising Shimano’s latest generation EP8 motor with 630Wh integrated battery, the 150mm-travel Mountain Cross 7 features mixed wheel sizes of 29”/27.5”, FOX suspension plus Shimano drivetrain and braking components.

Additional team sponsors include Kenny Racing, Sunlight, Crankbrothers, SIXPACK, Vee Tire Co, GALFER and Monkey’s Sauce.
