From May 29th to June 2nd almost 43.000 visitors and over 1.700 riders came to the hardest Enduro race of the world to transform the contemplative region around the Styrian Erzberg into the pulsating epicentre of the scene. "The Erzbergrodeo attracts participants from all continents - ambitious amateurs, semi-professionals and factory drivers who are looking for real challenges. The material is handled mercilessly, which is why the starters only rely on the best equipment. A perfect opportunity to show what our Husqvarna Bicycles are capable of," says Susanne Puello, Managing Director of PEXCO GmbH.
In the fight against the Iron Giant visitors put the eBike-fleet to the acid test on all 4 days of the event. Among them Erzbergrodeo-Legend Taddy Blazusiak and the 5-time Erzberg-Champion Graham Jarvis, who checked the prologue course with his Mountain Cross 7 as part of the Explorer Tour.
As starting signal for the cooperation with Husqvarna Motorcycles, Jarvis and his team mates from Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing - Billy Bolt and Alfredo Gomez - received their Husqvarna eBikes at the official Erzbergrodeo press conference. From now on more and more Husqvarna eBikes were romping around in the highly frequented #HusqEpack - Paddock alongside the big off-road machines and the riders used every free minute to work on their new eMTB-skills.
Another highlight in the Erzberg calendar was the KRONE Challenge powered by Husqvarna Bicycles. In the Acerbis Action Arena two teams, one with Karl Katoch, the other with Heinz Kinigadner at the top, competed against each other in an entertaining race. In the fight for the fastest lap on the Endurocross course, Team Karl with eMTB pioneer Guido Tschugg at the top, narrowly prevailed against their competitors.
The crowning finale was the "Red Bull Hare Scramble", which in 2019 was broadcasted all over the world with Red Bull TV and Servus TV. 22 live cameras, camera drones and helicopters delivered impressive pictures of the toughest off-road single race in the world. eBike pioneer and Husqvarna Bicycles brand ambassador Guido Tschugg rushed down the steep slope with his Extreme Cross 10 and delivered the official start flag to race director Karl Katoch during the opening ceremony.
